One of the main Loto September events is once again represented by Loto Open days, a marathon throughout Italy aimed at raising awareness and spreading prevention about gynecological cancers among women.
7 Italian hospitals in which Loto is set will offer gynecological visits, transvaginal ultrasound and genetic counseling services totally for free. The event will be coordinated by Loto volunteers.
This year Open days will be reserved to the stigmatized category of poor women (women with fragile economic conditions)
Organization
Loto is a non-profit association based on the work of volunteers, who are fighting against ovarian cancer. One of Loto ODV’s goals is to disseminate information, making women aware of diseases like ovarian cancer. It was created in 2013 by a group of patients and friends who wanted to initiate a "pioneering" pathway to deal with a disease whose causes are unknown and for which effective measures for early diagnosis are not yet available. Dedicated events, workshops and conferences, the website, social media and the newsletters are the main tools through which information, support and awareness-raising activities are carried out.
